Is this program a grant?
No. It's a loan of up to $15,000, carrying a fixed 1% interest rate, with no monthly payments required.
Is the loan forgivable?
No. This is a deferred loan — repayment becomes due in full when the home is sold, refinanced, transferred, or otherwise no longer serves as the applicant's primary residence.
Do you need to be a first-time home buyer to apply?
First-time buyer status is not listed as a requirement anywhere in the Program Guidelines or Application. (The application does ask whether you're a first-time buyer, but as informational tracking, not as an eligibility gate.)
Am I able to pre-qualify for Homeownership assistance?
To apply, you'll need a mortgage pre-approval (or lender commitment) and a signed purchase contract — both are required items on the Application checklist.
