Legislation

UAC advocates for all 29 of Utah’s counties. Policy created at local, state, and federal levels impacts county operations and funding. We work with legislators, agencies, cities and towns, AOGs, and others to achieve results for county governments.
Our primary goals are to:
  • Obtain critical funding to provide services at the local level
  • Safeguard our counties and their ability to self-govern
  • Enhance county code
Legislative advocacy is one of the most important services UAC provides to its members. Policy positions and priorities are established under the direction of elected county officials. All members are encouraged to participate in Policy Steering Committees throughout the year to help shape discussions and guide UAC’s official positions.
