UAC Governance

Accountability. Transparency. Leadership.
The Utah Association of Counties (UAC) is a member-driven, nonprofit organization guided by Utah’s 29 counties. Through a representative governance structure, UAC ensures that every county has a voice in shaping the policies, priorities, and services that strengthen local government across the state.
How We Govern
  • Board of Directors — Provides overall leadership, direction, and oversight for the association.
  • Executive Committee — Guides day-to-day priorities and ensures UAC remains responsive to member needs.
  • Committees — Bring together county leaders to address issues ranging from property tax and public lands to behavioral health and public safety.
  • Bylaws and Policies — Establish the framework for how UAC operates with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
Why It Matters
Good governance at UAC means counties leading counties. Our structure is built to reflect the diversity of Utah’s communities, urban and rural, large and small, so that UAC remains a unified voice and a trusted resource for all counties.
